MV Balmoral passes Yoker
Making her return to the Clyde Motor vessel ‘Balmoral’ left Glasgow this morning on her first sailing of the River Clyde in 2016, Running mate of our own paddle steamer ‘Waverley’. Traditionally, ‘Balmoral’ visits the Clyde each September.
Regal Princess at Greenock ocean terminal
The 141,000-tonne vessel, which can carry 4,000 passengers, Arrived at Greenock this morning from Bergen, Norway. She’ll leave the Clyde this evening bound for Belfast before heading onto Cork then crossing the Atlantic to Boston and finishing at New York. The huge vessel entered service in 2014 and this is her second visit to the Clyde.

In October 2015 the Glasgow-based charity ‘Friends of TS Queen Mary’ purchased the Queen Mary, In May 2016 after being made seaworthy, the Queen Mary was towed from Tilbury docks to James Watt in Greenock for renovation by Dales Marine. As of the 1st of September she is in dry dock undergoing the necessary treatment to return her to it’s former glory.
